Heather e. Plunkett

Heather Plunkett is a partner at Lindsay, Pickett & Postel, LLC having joined the firm in September of 2018. Her practice focuses primarily on insurance coverage as well as insurance defense litigation.  Heather represents insurance companies on coverage matters involving property and casualty coverage for both commercial and personal lines. She has also represented clients on coverage issues involving health and life policies as well as professional liability policies. Some of the major focuses of her practice have been insurance coverage claims and litigation arising out of defective construction, additional insured coverage and uninsured/ underinsured motorist claims. She works on cases involving insurer liability litigation including breach of contract, insurer negligence and bad faith. Additionally, Heather has litigated more than 20 appeals in the state and federal courts of Illinois and has argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Prior to private practice, Heather clerked for the Honorable Julia M. Nowicki in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Chancery Division.

Heather graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2004, where she obtained a certificate in Advocacy. She is also a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning a degree in Speech Communications with a concentration in Political Science.  Heather is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois, in federal court in the Northern District of Illinois, Central District of Illinois and Southern District of Illinois as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Heather was recognized as an “Emerging Lawyer” in 2018 by Leading Lawyers magazine for Insurance, Insurance Coverage & Reinsurance Law as well as Personal Injury Defense Law and as a “Rising Star” in Insurance Coverage by Illinois Super Lawyers in 2018.  Heather is currently the secretary of the North Suburban Bar Association.
