MatThew P. Bachochin
Matt joined Lindsay, Pickett & Postel, LLC as a senior associate in January 2018, and his practice primarily focuses on civil defense litigation. Prior to joining LPP, Matt spent 10 years representing individuals and companies in a variety of legal matters, including commercial disputes, breaches of contract, mechanics liens, insurance subrogation, products liability, employment disputes, mortgage foreclosure defense, and bankruptcy.
Matt is licensed to practice in Illinois, and the U.S. District Courts in the Northern District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Matt is also a member of the Federal Trial Bar. Prior to law school, Matt spent nine years working in sales, marketing, and advertising.
Matt and his wife Robyn live in Evanston and are proud parents to their twin sons, Zach and Eli. Matt enjoys giving back to his community, and volunteers his time as commissioner of the Evanston Baseball and Softball Association Major League and coaches his sons’ baseball team.
Individually tried more than 30 jury trials to verdict.
Individually tried three cases in the Illinois Court of Claims.
Represented plaintiffs and defendants in over 400 mandatory arbitration hearings.
Obtained a verdict in excess of $1.3M in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Served as lead trial counsel defending church leadership group against declaratory action brought by parishioners.
Negotiated a favorable settlement on behalf of a pro-bono client who brought a Section 1983 action alleging unlawful search and seizure by the Chicago Police Department.
Prosecuted a mechanics lien matter for an electrical supply contractor that resulted in a settlement in excess of the client's authority.
