Brett joined Lindsay, Pickett & Postel as an associate attorney in 2023. He focuses his practice primarily on insurance defense and litigation. Prior to joining LPP, Brett served as Legal Counsel in the Illinois Senate Minority Leader’s Office, advising Senators on complex litigation, laws, and constitutional questions. Brett also gained experience as an insurance defense counsel at one of the largest insurance companies in the United States. There, Brett oversaw cases ranging from minor injuries to catastrophic injury and death. Brett prides himself on his communication skills and his ability to always place his client’s needs at the forefront of his practice.

Brett graduated cum laude from Illinois State University in 2013, double majoring in History and Government. After working in the State Government as a special advisor to the Director of the Illinois Department of Corrections, Brett entered law school at the University of Illinois – College of Law on a full academic scholarship, graduating in 2018. During Brett’s third year of law school, he served as a 711 attorney at the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, specializing in traffic and misdemeanor cases.

In his free time, Brett enjoys anything competitive, including football, bowling, and playing cards. When not competing, Brett enjoys cooking and spending as much time as possible with his wife Stephanie and his children Rick and Reagan.
