Victoria Benson brings nearly two decades of civil litigation and trial experience to Lindsay, Pickett & Postel, LLC. Victoria joined the firm in October 2023 after leading the Individual Defense Section of the City of Chicago’s Federal Civil Rights Litigation Division as Deputy Corporation Counsel. During her time with the City of Chicago’s Law Department, Victoria defended the City of Chicago and its employees against claims of civil rights violations in both state and federal courts. Victoria has also previously served as Deputy City Attorney for the City of Evanston, where she defended the City of Evanston against a wide range of claims, including employment discrimination, premises liability, and police misconduct.

Victoria is a staunch advocate for her clients and has defended against a wide range of claims during her career, ranging from premises liability, construction negligence, product liability, malicious prosecution, to wrongful death. Victoria has tried over a dozen cases to verdict in both state and federal courts. In addition to her role as a civil litigator, Victoria brings a background of municipal law to the firm having experience counseling city, town, and village governments in various capacities, including serving as counsel during council, board, and committee meetings.  Victoria is licensed to practice in Illinois and in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois.

A proud native of Chicago’s south side, Victoria can be found on summer evenings cheering on the White Sox at 35th and Shields.
