James C. Barrow

James joined the firm as a partner in June 2024. In the past 25 years, James has successfully defended catastrophic, wrongful death, and high value cases, including 25 first chair jury trials to verdict, and over 100 high value bench trials, arbitrations, and mediations. He has litigated matters numerous high profile and exposure cases on behalf of Fortune 500 companies and insurance companies in Federal and State courts in Indiana, Illinois, Texas, and California. He was admitted to the Federal Trial Bar in 2008. He concentrates his practice in wrongful death, trucking and transportation, premises liability, products liability, construction litigation, construction defects, and commercial liability. James is licensed in Indiana, Illinois, and numerous Federal Courts and the 7th Circuit of Appeals.

James spent his early years living in Okinawa, Japan, Seoul, South Korea, New Mexico, and Ohio before moving to Chicago. Since graduating from law school, James and his attorney wife, Soo, have lived in Chicago and/or its surrounding suburbs raising two boys and a border collie named Ranger. If you don’t see James in the office, you will find him playing soccer with friends (over 50 league), hiking, or in his workshop crafting violins, violas, and the occasional cello or bass.
