Chris Pickett: We defended a general contractor against a construction site injury case involving an HVAC employee who fell through a floor penetration. Despite contracting to perform general contracting services, we argued that our client assigned these duties to a construction and property manager who ended up paying the majority of the settlement. Our payment is also subject to a claim for reimbursement from a non-participating insurer; that claim remains pending.
